Thumb Lock® Does It All...

Thumb Lock Fastening Set - A fastening set consists of two Thumb Lock Fasteners and a locking strap. The fasteners can be moved and locked in either direction on the strap, providing unlimited adjustments for fastening unusual sizes and shapes.

Fastening Methods - When properly located, two fastening sets place d at opposite corners of a rectangular low profile piece of equipment will prevent horizontal and vertical movement within the recommended weight range of the fastener.

Four fastening sets, placed at each corner of the equipment, will double the holding strength for heavier, top-heavy equipment.

Any combination of Thumb Lock may be used together on the same locking strap. This versatility is particularly useful for fastening mixed equipment sizes in stacked configurations.

Locking Strap - A patented polyurethane bonded nylon strap with a rated breaking strength of 750 pounds. The locking strap bends easily around corners and edges, conforming perfectly to equipment shapes. Its soft texture and resistance to solvents, cleaners and bacteria is particularly well suited for hospitals, clean room and laboratory applications. The Locking Strap is available in 48" lengths. It is non-fraying and may be cut-to-size with scissors.

Replaceable Adhesive Pads - Non-hardening, pressure-sensitive adhesive pads that bond to 100 lbs./sq. in. (specifications), yet remove without trace from desks, furniture or equipment surfaces. The adsive bonds strongly to plastic laminates (like Formica), enameled metal, and plastic equipment casings within a temperature range of -20o F to 200o F. A 400% safety margin has been factored between the holding "specs" of Thumb Lock fasteners and the recommended weight range for their use. Thumb Lock adhesive (3M VHB™ ) is a "dynamic" strength adhesive designed forfor holding during movement. IIt is not intended for hanging or supporting weight on a wall or ceiling. The maximum adhesive holding strength on a vertical surface is 1 pound per 4 sq. in. adhesive pad. (RP-4).

File Cabinet, Furniture Restraints - The Thumb Lock System is a strong, simple solution for securing cabinets and furniture together or to walls, floors or partitions. One end of two or more locking straps are fastened directly to the wall or wall studs with a lag screw or "molly" bolt, behind and out of sight of the cabinet. The free end of the strap (straps) are then fastened to the top or sides of the cabinet with a pair of Thumb Locks (TL-4), provg a low profile, quick release fastening system that is easily removed and relocated when changing office settings.

Fastening "Top-Heavy" Products - Top-heavy product is more likely to topple, so maximum holding strengths needed. 50% more strength is recommended for a product that is twice as tall as it is wide, 100% more if 3:1, 150% more if 4:1.
